Pakistan Elections 2008 proved to be a political change in the region. The people of Pakistan badly rejected the pro Musharaf political party, Pakistan Muslim League (Q). According to masses in Pakistan, the defeat of PML- Q was due to a number of causes like:
- Acceptance of Democracy under military rule
- Promotion of President Musharraf’s Vision
- Wrong Approach towards War on terror
- Blochistan, Sawat Crisis
- Pakistan’s worst energy crisis
- Inflation
- Pakistan’s Judicial Activism
- Lal Masjid Issue - mainly how wrongly they approached towards the solution of that internal issue
- Food and Wheat Crisis
- Rise of religious exremism and sucide attacks
